Prelude 5 is one amongst many preludes by Francisco Tarrega. This one is played at a slow pace in the key of E Major. Because of its languid pace, let the music breathe. so don’t rush it. Hold the notes as long as possible to fill in the gaps. keep left hand finger pressed down firmly- don’t let the notes decay. There is a single occurrence of the artificial or octave harmonic in the last measure-the last note. Use your right index finger and press lightly on the Top E string at the 12th fret. Pluck downwards with your thumb.




Technique and Tips
24 Bars. Ends with a artificial or octave harmonic. There are 9 barre chords. 6 of them are barred at the second fret. Play slow straight. no repeats

Bar[14]
<12> Harmonic. in this case on the 12 fret. place pinky-vertical in a barre position-lightly over the string and pluck out the bell sound tone.

Bar[16]-[17]
The hardest part of the song. After the hammer on and pull offs. Hold the notes as long as possible.

Bar[24]
Final measure. Left hand finger hold on to the last chord. with the right index finger, gently press the 12th fret and pluck the harmonic with thumb (downstroke).
